Blue Spirit

Blue Spirit occupies a hilltop above a three-mile white sand beach in Nosara, a turtle refuge on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. The centre runs back-to-back curated retreats throughout its November–August season, hosted by visiting teachers from around the world : yoga, meditation, longevity, psycho-spiritual work. All programmes run for seven nights. Guests choose a retreat and a room category, and the week unfolds around that structure.

The facilities are built for this model: multiple yoga shalas, a saltwater infinity pool with mountain views, access to a private cove, and a dining operation that produces entirely vegetarian meals (with fish on select evenings). Some rooms are in the main building with ocean views; others are eco-cottages deep in the vegetation, or glamping tents a stone stairway from the main lodge. The simplest rooms are for the experience; the nicest ones are simply additional.
